PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University senior shortstop Ashley Morran has been named the KIAC Softball Player of the Week for the second week in a row, the conference announced on Monday (April 7).

Morran, a native of Washington, Pa., and a graduate of Trinity High School, continued her hot streak by hitting .590 (13 for 22) with four doubles, six RBIs and seven runs in six games last week for Point Park (13-11, 8-4 KIAC).

Last year's KIAC Player of the Year is once again proving to be a top player in the conference with a season average of .390 with five home runs and 25 RBIs in 24 games so far this season. She is second in the KIAC in RBIs and third in homers.

In the six games last week, Morran had five mult-hit games, which included two three-hit games. She hit safely in all six games, and she currently has a nine-game hit streak. Morran and the Pioneers return to action Tuesday with a KIAC doubleheader versus Carlow at 3 p.m.
