Alice Lloyd’s lone run scored in the bottom of the first. Leadoff hitter Madison Haymaker walked to reach base and Tori Price hit an RBI double to right center to bring her home.

Geary went 3-for-5 with three singles and McMurtrie hit a triple in the top of the seventh to contribute to the win.

In game two of the doubleheader, Point Park took advantage of the mercy rule with a 14-3 win in five innings.

The Pioneers scored seven runs in the third inning to take the lead 7-3. Haley Wisniewski started the inning off with a single, followed by a double by Carley Rosso. Geary’s hit to right field brought Wisniewski home, and Babincak singled to load the bases. Vogt drove a double to deep center for three RBIs, followed by a double from Mao. McMurtrie brought Vogt and Mao around with a shot over the right field fence, her second home run of the year.

Pitcher Hannah Harley (2-0) walked one, struck out five and scattered nine hits in the five inning game.

Alice Lloyd scored its runs in the first two innings. Haymaker got on base with a hit and a single by Kayla Stambaugh brought her home. In the second, the bottom of the order got on with a pair of singles, and Stambaugh hit them home with a double to center field.

The mercy rule was in place when Point Park scored four runs in the fifth inning. After scoring three runs in the fourth, the Pioneers started the fifth with a single by Rosso. Rosso scored on a single up the middle by Geary. Vogt reached on an error and Geary scored to extend the lead to 12-3.

Mao drew a walk and McMurtrie hit a two-run double to make the score 14-3.

Harley struck out the first two batters in the bottom of the fifth, and the Eagles tried to hang on with a triple by Whitley Albury. An error and a walk kept the inning alive, but Haymaker hit a popup to short to end the game.
