Roddy, a senior right-side hitter from Greensburg, Pa., and Oberacker, a sophomore outside hitter from Erie, Pa., were voted as two of the top five players in the league and earned a spot on the 12-player All-AMC first team.

Earning All-AMC second-team honors from Point Park (29-10) were Ashley Zietak, a senior middle hitter from Pittsburgh, and Katie Geary, a junior setter from Pittsburgh. Rounding out Point Park’s honorees was outside hitter Chelsea Katkich, who was named to the All-AMC Freshman Team.

Roddy is on the All-AMC first team for the second year in a row, and Oberacker is on the first team after being a second-team choice last year as a freshman. Seniors Roddy and Zietak earned All-AMC honors for the third time, Oberacker did so for the second time and Geary and Katkich are first-time honorees.

Roddy finished her career last week as a four-year starter and a three-year captain. The two-time All-AMC first teamer totaled a career-high 445 kills this year to give her 1,628 kills for her career. A standout player on offense and defense, Roddy had 335 digs this year and 1,668 for her career.

Oberacker enjoyed an outstanding sophomore season with a career-high 488 kills, which ranked third in the AMC. The outside hitter from Erie McDowell averaged 3.46 kills per set and ranked seventh in the league with an attacking percentage of .286. Oberacker’s season totals also included 204 digs, 74 blocks and 61 aces. She put up an impressive 415 kills as a freshman last year.

Zietak was a team captain this year and a four-year starter. The 6-1 middle hitter from Brashear High School was third on the team with 335 kills and second on the team with 89 blocks. Zietak finished her career with 1,323 kills and 35 blocks.

Geary earned All-AMC honors for the first time this year by putting up 1,384 assists, 244 digs and 50 blocks. She has been Point Park’s primary setter for the last two years, and the Shaler High School graduate has 3,519 career assists.

Katkich, a freshman outside hitter, earned a spot on the All-AMC Freshman Team with 151 kills and 38 aces. The Imperial, Pa., native assumed a starting role on the Pioneers’ attack midway through the season and became a key part of the Point Park offense during the stretch run.

Point Park was 29-10 this year and made the AMC playoffs for the fourth time in five years. Over the past two seasons, the Pioneers have a record of 61-18 overall and 15-7 in the AMC. Roddy and Zietak teamed with fellow senior Angela Nelson to make up the winningest senior class in the history of the program. The trio that debuted as freshman in 2007 was 105-50 the last four years.
