Oberacker named AMC Volleyball Player of the Week once again

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University volleyball player Lindsey Oberacker has been named the American Mideast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 5-11. The junior outside hitter from Erie., Pa., has won the weekly award both times it has been given out so far this year.

Oberacker is the top offensive threat for the Pioneers, who are 13-1 entering Wednesday's night's match at California (Pa.). She lead Point Park to a 5-0 record last week when she pounded down 74 kills and hit .442 in 16 sets played.

Oberacker's averages for the week included 4.63 kills and 2.38 digs per set. She totaled 38 digs, 18 blocks and five aces in the five matches.

On the year, Oberacker has 194 kills, which rank 7th in the nation. Her hitting percentage of .330, which has been climbing with her recent, two-week tear, ranks 19th in the NAIA.

The biggest performances from her week included 27 kills and a .682 attacking percentage versus Notre Dame (OH), 16 kills (in 22 attempts) and five blocks versus Ohio Valley, and nine kills and 12 digs versus West Liberty.

Oberacker has 1,097 kills, 452 digs and 197 blocks in her career.
