Leeza Tokarski scored the game-winning goal for Point Park versus Midway.

PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University women's soccer team made it a perfect weekend in KIAC play with Saturday's 2-0 home win over Midway (Ky.) College at Highmark Stadium.

The Pioneers (3-4, 2-0 KIAC) got their second conference shutout in as many days to remain unbeaten in KIAC play through two games. Point Park beat Berea (Ky.), 3-0, at home on Friday, and it had a total of five goals for and zero goals against for the weekend.

Point Park and Midway (1-3, 0-2 KIAC) were tied at 0-0 at halftime, but Point Park asserted control early in the second half. The Pioneers scored two goals less than one minute apart as Leeza Tokarski broke the tie with her third goal of the year in the 51st minute.

Tokarski dribbled in from the right side to score an unassisted goal. In the 52nd minute, Kari Kowalski matched Tokarski for the team lead in goals after taking an assist on Alyson Joyce's cross from the right.

The Pioneers held a 26-10 advantage in shots and led in shots on goal, 19-6. Point Park had 10 shots on goal in the first half but was kept of the board the first 45 minutes due to good goalkeeping by Midway's Katie Bailey and five offsides calls that ended chances. The Pioneers had a goal waved off early on due to offsides.

But Point Park found its offense in the second half, where most of its goals have come this season. Bailey ended up with 17 saves for Midway.

Lauren Finkbeiner started again as the Point Park goalkeeper, and she posted her second straight shutout. Finkbeiner, a junior who got her first-career start in Friday's win, made six saves versus Midway.

Point Park returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Geneva. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
