PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University women's soccer team got its offense going with two goals in the second half of Saturday's non-conference game with Ohio Valley, but unfortunately the visiting Fighting Scots put up three goals of their own after halftime on their way to a 4-2 victory at Highmark Stadium.

Ohio Valley (1-0) took a 1-0 lead on Brittany Stone's goal with 3:05 left in the first half. The Fighting Scots, who were 2-16 last year, made it 2-0 early in the second half on Victoria Bruce's tally in the 54th minute.

Point Park (1-3) got within a goal when junior midfielder Kari Kowalski scored her first goal of the year just six minutes later. But Ohio Valley, which beat Point Park, 1-0, at home last year, steadily increased the lead to 4-1 with goals by Brianna Hart (66') and Amanda Simpson (75').

Point Park made it 4-2 on Ula Koczkodaj's strike with just 2:02 left on the clock. Ohio Valley led in shots, 16-12.

Through four games, Point Park has been a second-half team offensively. The Pioneers have a total of five goals on the year with all of them coming after halftime.

Point Park continues its current, five-game homestand with three home games this coming week. The Pioneers host Eastern Oregeon Wednesday at 12 p.m. before opening up KIAC play versus Berea (Ky.) on Friday (5 p.m.) and Midway (Ky.) on Saturday (12 p.m.).
