Senior defender Amanda Mikolay is the fourth Point Park defender to be honored this year.

PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University women's soccer team swept the KIAC Offensive & Defensive Player of the Week awards for Oct. 20-26 with senior defender Amanda Mikolay and junior forward Beth Millican earning the honors.

Mikolay, a four-year starter from North Versailles, Pa., and East Allegeny High School, led the defense to a 4-0 shutout at Carlow last week, the only game of the week for Point Park (10-8, 5-1 KIAC). Mikolay became the fourth member of the Pioneers' starting defensive back four to win the KIAC Defensive Player of the Week award this year.

Millican, a junior from England in her second year at Point Park, scored the first two goals versus Carlow to take control. They were the first two goals of the year for Millican, and the victory clinched the KIAC Tournament No. 2 seed and the first-round playoff bye that goes with it.

Point Park will be off until playing in the KIAC Tournament semifinals Nov.14. The opponent and time is TBA, and the KIAC Tournament semifinals and finals will be hosted by Asbury (Ky.) Nov. 14-15.
