FLORENCE, Ky. -- The KIAC Game of the Week for this week features the women's soccer matchup of Point Park University at Ohio Christian University, the KIAC office announced today. The Pioneers meet the Trailblazers on Tuesday, September 15 at 5 p.m. in Circleville, Ohio.

When Point Park (2-1-1, 0-0 KIAC) and Ohio Christian (4-1, 1-0 KIAC) meet on Tuesday night, it will be the first KIAC game of the year for Point Park. OCU, which is a new member to the conference this year, is off to a 1-0 start in KIAC play with a 2-0 home win over Carlow on Saturday.

Point Park is coming off a close loss to NAIA No. 25 Mt. Vernon Nazarene, 2-0, on Saturday but had been unbeaten through its first three games prior to that. Point Park started out 2-0 with wins over NCAA Division II Malone (2-1) and NAIA St. Catharine (1-0) before coming back late in regulation to tie NCAA Division II Walsh (2-2, 2OT).

The Pioneers have many players returning from last year's team that was 10-9-1 overall and reached the KIAC Tournament semifinals. Point Park's defense has been very strong with just five goals allowed in five games.

The Point Park offense has scored five goals led by Erin Gilmartin with two goals, one assist and five points. In with one goal apiece is Beth Millican with the game-winner versus Malone, Alyson Joyce with the game-winner versus St. Catharine and Abby Magliocca with a goal versus Walsh.

Ohio Christian, which is also a new member to the NAIA this year, has won four of its first five games. The Trailblazers are under first-year coach Jake Warren, who took over for Josh Murton this year. Murton coached both the OCU men's and women's soccer teams the last number of years but now solely coaches the OCU men's team. The Trailblazers were 12-9-1 last year and reached the semifinals of the NCCAA national tournament.

Ohio Christian has scored 18 goals in five games for an average of 3.6 per game and has given up a total of 10 goals on the year. Haylee Francis leads the offense with eight goals and 16 points, while Katelyn Danner is next with four goals, four assists and 12 points. Kendra White chipped in two goals, three assists and seven points.
