Point Park University women's soccer signs Angela Robinet of South Korea

Dec. 13, 2010

PITTSBURGH – Point Park University women’s soccer head coach Mark Platts has announced the signing of incoming freshman Angela Robinet, a native of Daegu, South Korea, who will join the Pioneers in the fall of 2011.

Robinet (pictured) was an all-conference center-midfielder and team MVP at Daegu American High School. A three-sport athlete in high school, Robinet is the second player to sign in Platt’s recruiting class thus far.

“Angela comes to us after playing high school soccer in South Korea,” said Platts, a native of Wetherby, England, who became the Point Park head coach prior to the 2010 season. “She has played against teams from all over the world and will bring a great playing experience to our team.

“An attacking midfielder who is aggressive and composed with the ball, Angela will provide us with an attacking threat out of the midfield. I am very happy to have her as my second signing for 2011. After signing a forward in Amanda Mikolay, Angela is a great addition to the midfield. I am looking forward to coaching her, and I know she will really enjoy her student-athlete experience at Point Park University.”

Point Park University, located in Pittsburgh, Pa.,  is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the American Mideast Conference (AMC).
