Oct. 25, 2010

BECKLEY, W.Va. – Freshman forward Colleen Poploski scored the game’s only goal to lift Point Park University to a 1-0 victory at Mountain State University Monday in an NAIA, non-conference women’s soccer game.

Poploski, a native of Bethel Park, Pa., now has a team-high five goals and 11 points on the year.

Point Park improved to 4-12 with the victory, which means the Pioneers have doubled their win total from last season. Mountain State is 3-12 overall with all three victories coming in the NAIA Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

The Pioneers routed Mountain State, 7-0, at home last season.

Point Park plays host to Notre Dame (OH) on Saturday for its Senior Night. Kickoff at Founders Field is 5 p.m. The game will be the final home contest for five seniors – Jo Jo Altebrando, Frankie Donlon, Ashley Goodsell, Melia Muckle and Amanda Trainor.
