Dr. Charles A. Perkins

Provost

Dr. Charles Perkins serves as Point Park University's Provost.  Dr. Perkins teaches in the University's School of Business. Dr. Charles Perkins holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. from George Washington University. He also completed the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development.

Dr. Perkins served as Provost and Executive Vice President at Alvernia College from 1997-2006. He served as Chair of the Department of Business and Economics and Dean of the Division of Professional Studies at Missouri Western State College from 1991-97. At the United States Naval Academy, Dr. Perkins was Acting Dean for Faculty and Finance, Financial Manager for the Division of Mathematics and Science, and Associate Chairperson of the Economics Department from 1982-1985.  He received the "Clements" award as the Outstanding Military Educator in 1985.
He completed a 20-year naval career as a Naval Supply Officer in 1991, and enjoys sailing.

 

Dr. Karen S. McIntyre

Vice Provost and Dean of Faculty

Dr. Karen S. McIntyre serves a Point Park University's Vice Provost and Dean of Faculty. She is a professor of Education in the School of Arts and Sciences.  

Dr. McIntyre holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Education and Ph. D. in Curriculum and Supervision from the University of Pittsburgh.  She is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Principal, Early Childhood and Elementary teacher. 

Before her appointment as Vice Provost and Dean of Faculty in May of 2009, she served as the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences beginning in January 2007 and Chairperson of the Education Department from 2005-2007.  Positions she has held at other institutions include: President of The Education Policy and Issues Center, Director of the Office of Educational Design and Assessment, Director of Unit of School Support Services and Division Director of Early Childhood Education for Pittsburgh Public Schools, Elementary and Middle School Teacher and Vice Principal for the Diocese of Pittsburgh Catholic Schools.

 

 

Dr. Diane Maldonado

Assistant Provost for Student Learning and Outcomes Assessment

Dr. Diane Maldonado serves as Point Park University's Assistant Provost for Student Learning and Outcomes Assessment. She teaches in the University's School of Arts and Sciences in addition to her administrative responsibilities. Dr. Maldonado holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Allegheny College and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in English from Duquesne University. Dr. Maldonado served as a Professor of Communication Arts, Assessment of Student Learning Coordinator, and Acting Academic Dean at Community College of Allegheny County, where she worked from 1990-2008.



Jan Ryan

Coordinator for Academic Support

Jan Ryan is responsible to the Vice Provost for coordination and support related to Academic Affairs within the Provost's Office; Managing inter-office communication, assisting in the documentation and maintenance of academic policies, assisting Events Planning and other offices in the coordination of academic events and functions, and keeping minutes of committee and operational area meetings. Before joining the Provost's Office staff, she was the executive assistant in the Student Affairs Office.


Jan Perine

Executive Assistant to the Provost

Jan Perine is responsible to the Provost for the management of all administrative functions in support of the Provost Office. She coordinates with the President's Office, School Deans and the Vice Provost. She is also responsible for organizing and scheduling the work of the office, maintaining task assignments and their follow-up, developing schedules, managing inter-office communication, assisting in the documentation and maintenance of academic policies, drafting correspondence, and keeping minutes of Board level and University management meetings. Jan holds a B.S. from Robert Morris University.


Jordan Nofziger

Executive Assistant to the Vice Provost

Jordan_NofzigerJordan Nofziger is responsible to the Vice Provost and Dean of Faculty for the management of academic administration responsibilities in Academic Affairs within the Provost's Office. He is responsible for organizing and scheduling the work of the office, maintaining task assignments and their follow-up, developing schedules, managing inter-office communication, assisting in the documentation and maintenance of academic policies, drafting correspondence, and keeping minutes of committee and operational area meetings. Jordan also processes full-time faculty contracts and tracks their return and also maintains all necessary faculty records for compliance consistent with protocols established in the School Offices/ Office of the Deans. Before joining the Provost Office staff, Jordan was Assistant to the Dean in the School of Arts and Sciences and the Administrative Assistant in of Office of Career Development. Jordan graduated from Point Park University with a Bachelor of Arts in 2007.

 

Mackenzie Farone

Program Assistant, Research and Administration

Mackenzie Farone is responsible to the Vice Provost for the management of research and budget functions in support of the Provost Office. She conducts research and prepares data driven reports on a regular and as needed basis. She coordinates regular reporting with the School Deans, the Assistant Provosts, the Registrar and the Library Director. Mackenzie serves as liaison with the University Office of Marketing and Communication. Mackenzie also maintains and updates the Provost Office's Strategic Plan submissions, Middle States Self-Study status reporting on Blackboard and monitors the Provost Office's budgets. Mackenzie is a 2009 graduate from Point Park University with a Bachelors of Science degree.
