Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant program provides assistance to students who demonstrate financial need according to economic criteria and program requirements established by the federal government.
To be eligible, students must enroll in a degree or approved certificate program and be matriculating for their first bachelor's degree. Awards vary based on the student's enrollment status and students may be eligible to receive this grant for any credit load, full-time, three-quarter time, half-time, or less than half-time.
Pennsylvania State Grant
The Pennsylvania State Grant is a resource available to Pennsylvania state residents who meet eligibility requirements and the application deadline. Students are eligible to receive either a part-time (6-11credits) or full-time (12+ credits) awards for the equivalent of four full-time semesters.
Part-time students who receive 100% corporate reimbursement are not eligible for the Pennsylvania State grant.
Alumni Grant
The Alumni Grant provides a $30/credit discount on undergraduate courses taken at Point Park University by eligible graduates. Note: It is the responsibility of the graduate to apply for this discount prior to starting coursework at the University.
Point Park University Part-time / Accelerated Grant
Point Park University offers grants to part-time and accelerated students who show financial need beyond that which other forms of gift aid assistance can cover. The amount of the grant is determined based on the student's financial need and enrollment status.
Part-time or Accelerated students taking 6-8 credits can receive up to $500 per semester; 9-11 credits can receive up to $750 per semester; 12+ credits can receive up to $750 per semester. These grants are available in fall, spring, and summer terms.
- All students seeking Point Park University funding must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available in the Financial Aid Office.
- Students who receive 100% employer reimbursement are not eligible for Part-time or Accelerated Grants.
The Federal SEOG (Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant) is a federal need-based grant. If a student is selected as a Federal SEOG recipient, Point Park University institutional need-based awards will be replaced.
Pioneer Grant
Point Park University has established a new transfer grant program for:
- Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC)
- Community College of Beaver County (CCBC)
- Butler County Community College (BCCC)
- Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC)
- Kaplan Career Institute – ICM campus
- Pittsburgh Technical Institute
- Triangle Tech students
It is available to students who have earned an associate's degree or 60 transferable credits and want to continue their education at Point Park University. Eligible transfer students accepted to Point Park University on a part-time or accelerated basis will receive $55 per credit until completion of 60 credits. Students receiving Pioneer Grants may also be eligible for other merit-based and need-based financial aid.
Students who receive corporate reimbursement are not eligible for the Pioneer Grant.
