Point Park University provides many technology resources to students. Some of these resources include:

Computer Help Desk
The Computer Help Desk is located in room 406 Academic Hall. Staff can be reached at 412-392-3494 or 412-392-3180. The Computer Help Desk provides campus support for all faculty, staff, and students.
Please note that the Computer Help Desk does not offer computer services in relation to personally owned equipment or software. In addition, off campus support is only provided by phone.
Computer User Accounts
The username and password are the same when using the Student Technology Labs, Email and Blackboard systems only.
Username
In order to access most computer based services at PointParkUniversity you need a user account. Student user accounts are automatically created when you arrive as a new student.
Your Username is your first initial + middle initial (if provided to PointPark) + the first five letters of your last name.
Example1:
Name: Jane A Johnson
Username: jajohns
Password
Information about your password will be provided at a later time. If you do not receive your password information, go to the Computer Help Desk in room 406 Academic Hall room with your student ID.
If you are a current student and have forgotten your password, go to the lab consultant desk with your student ID and they will reset it for you.
Current students are provided a Point Park University E-mail account. Your E-mail address will be

E-mail can be retrieved online at http://pointmail1.pointpark.edu/exchange from any computer that has Internet access. For information of POP3 or IMAP configuration, please contact the Computer Help Desk.
PointWeb
PointWeb is an online information system where students can check their course schedule and grades. Please visit http://pointweb.pointpark.edu. Your username for this system will be your student number which can be found on your Point Park University ID Card.
Blackboard
Blackboard is a web-accessible course management system that can be used by faculty to supplement a course. Course Information such as the syllabus, assignments, announcements and even student grades can be found on the Blackboard site for a course. Blackboard also supports communication methods such as discussion groups, chat and email. Please visit http://bb.pointpark.edu
Wireless Network Access
Check out wi-fi locations around campus. You need your pointpark username and password to use this service.
Computer Purchasing Program
Point Park University offers online resources to assist you in the purchase of a computer or software for your academic use. Please visit the Computer Purchasing Program
High Speed Internet Access and Cable Television
All Lawrence and Thayer Hall dormitory rooms are equipped with data network access ports. Each room has one (1) data port per pillow. The data port permits each student to connect his or her personal computer to the University network. These rooms are also equipped with one (1) cable TV connection.
Residents will have access to basic cable, expanded basic cable, and HBO. Premium channels are available, at an additional charge, by contacting Comcast.
