Last year’s inaugural Allegheny Green & Innovation Festival attracted nearly 3,000 attendees and more than 50 exhibitors of everything needed for green living and cutting-edge technologies, from hydroponic gardening to chicken coops, solar and wind power -- and even a book swap.

Point Park Hosts 2011 AASHE Conference 

Oct. 9-12, 2011 | David L. Lawrence Convention Center
Point Park is proud to host the 2011 AASHE Conference -- the largest annual conference on campus sustainability. Opening Keynote Speaker is Wangari Maathai, founder of the Green Belt Movement and the first woman in East and Central Africa to earn a doctorate degree. Features workshops, renowned speakers, community service and a student summit.

Sustainability Consultants Evaluate Campus

Point Park's sustainability consultants, Woodard & Curran, visited campus on Nov. 10-11, 2010, to evaluate the University's current sustainability practices and activities against the selected STARS criteria, which is designed specifically for colleges and universities to assess their progress toward achieving campus sustainability. While at Point Park, they met with groups of students, along with staff and faculty.
