Online Programs at Point Park

Point Park University offers a bachelor's and an associate's degree in public administration, plus certificate programs in three different disciplines, all in a 100 percent online format:

The bachelor's and associate's degrees in public administration follow the same course requirements and timeframes as the on-campus programs. Overall, the goals of the public administration programs are to prepare students for careers in government, non-profits and regulated businesses, or to expand professional opportunities for those already working in these fields.

The three 18-credit certificate programs provide specific knowledge and credentials to support adults interested in advancing their careers in these areas, and are designed to be completed within one year.

For these online programs, classes are offered entirely via the Internet following well-established curriculum used in traditional classrooms. The online programs begin in both the fall and spring semesters, and students never need to visit campus. All courses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via Blackboard, the University's course management system.

Easy to Use Technology

Students access Blackboard via a secure log-in using their own high-speed Internet connection. The Blackboard platform allows for trouble-free access to course content and ongoing interaction between course instructors and students. Curious about how it works? Read more about Blackboard.

Point Park provides students with clear and concise information on computer hardware and software requirements. This ensures your computer’s compatibility with the University network and student service systems. Be sure to read all technology requirements.

Library Services

Point Park's Library offers all students virtual access 24 hours a day. View our Articles & More section to conduct research and PointCat to search books, DVDs, etc. And because the University participates in such borrowing programs as EZ-Borrow and InterLibrary Loan the library extends well beyond its own walls to bring you what you need. To reach a librarian text, IM, call, or email us. The library is ready to help you make the most of your online learning.

More Online Options

In addition to the fully online certificate programs, Point Park’s School of Business and other schools offer individual online classes, as noted in the University’s coursebook. The coursebook also lists hybrid classes, which means a course may include online requirements along with traditional in-class time.  All are all identified with “hybrid” or with an HY designation.
