In addition to teaching at Point Park, Lisa DiCerbo is employed as a Tax Attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service. She currently works in the Small Business/Self-Employed section of Counsel, and litigates for the IRS in Tax Court. Ms. DiCerbo is also honored to serve as a Special Assistant to the United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania and represents the IRS in Bankruptcy Court. Prior to her current assignment, Ms. DiCerbo worked as a Criminal Tax Attorney, advising the Special Agents of the IRS Criminal Investigation Division.
Ms. DiCerbo, a Certified Public Accountant, previously worked as a State Tax Consultant in Big Four public accounting. Prior to that, she served as an Appeals Officer in a state revenue department and practiced criminal law in state courts. Before attending law school, Ms. DiCerbo was a Pennsylvania State Trooper for seven years.
As a Professional in Residence at Point Park, Ms. DiCerbo teaches undergraduate and graduate level accounting and business courses. She formerly taught graduate level tax courses for the Masters of Science in Taxation degree program at Robert Morris University.
