The M.B.A. portfolio requirement at Point Park University enables students to highlight all of the work they have completed throughout the 36-credit program. The portfolio not only allows students to periodically reflect on their M.B.A. program experiences, but also gives them an edge in the job market after graduation.
Upon admission to the M.B.A. program, students are required to begin working on the portfolio. Students must include at least one of the following items from each course they have taken.
- Case studies;
- Research work;
- Strategic business plans;
- Writing assignments;
- Marketing plans; and
- Individual projects.
Please see Blackboard (under "My Organizations") for specific requirements.
Benefits of the M.B.A. Portfolio
The M.B.A. portfolio is beneficial to students in several ways. It serves as a tool for students to market their skills and abilities to potential employers while also showcasing their M.B.A. concentration area of expertise (management, international business, management information systems, sport, arts and entertainment management, or health systems management).
In addition, the M.B.A. portfolio provides an added benefit for students who are applying to doctoral programs and need to show samples of graduate-level work they have completed.
For questions about the M.B.A. portfolio and a complete list of requirements, contact Dawn Parasolick, assistant to the chair of the Department of Global Management and Organization, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 412-392-8047, or visit Blackboard.
