ASPIRING CPAs: Earning your Accounting BS from Point Park gives you an added bonus of 6 credits toward your MBA. Take advantage of this credit waiver for Point Park University graduates with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Accounting majors do the coursework required to pass the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination. Upon graduation, you can begin your accounting career in a position with a public accounting firm, the cost accounting department of a large corporation, or a small business. You'll be qualified to perform individual, partnership, corporate, nonprofit and tax accounting.
NOTE: Effective January 1, 2012 individuals pursuing a CPA license in Pennsylvania will be required to have a Baccalaureate or higher degree with a completion of 150 credit hours, including at least a total of 36 semester credits of accounting and auditing, business law, finance and tax subjects. Point Park's Accounting BS/MBA not only fulfills this requirement but provides the individual with a master's degree in as little as one year after attainment of the BS.
All programs leading to the Associate's Degree, Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Business Administration in the School of Business are accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
