Please describe your marketing internship this fall with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
The Pittsburgh Symphony is allowing me to learn so much in regards to selling single tickets, subscriptions and the field of marketing. As one of the marketing interns for the Symphony, I have been dealing with social media marketing for both the BNY Mellon Grand Classics as well as the PNC POPs concert series. The Symphony is teaching me how to market two very different products for one organization via social media outlets. I couldn't be happier with the staff who I get to learn and work from everyday. They listen to my ideas and allow me to voice my opinions. I'm so happy with my internship, it's exactly what I want to do when I graduate.
What made you choose the SAEM program at Point Park?
I chose this program because I originally wanted to be an event planner for non profit art organizations. However, this program has opened my eyes to other options for my future. It truly is a great program!
What area of the SAEM program interests you most and why?
Nonprofits. I love the hard work.
How would you describe the professors in the SAEM program?
Amazing. This program wouldn't be what it is without them. Steve, Ed, Paige, Teresa and Maggie have each given a uniqueness to the program that truly makes this major original. They care about the success and needs of their students, and it clearly shows.
What are your future career goals?
I'm working on a career in the Cultural District doing the marketing and/or ticket sells for PNC Broadway Across America (Pittsburgh). I also hope to move to New York and market for the Broadway Booking Office or a similar organization. However, I'm only a sophomore so this could all change in two years!
