Not your average film school
The Cinema and Digital Arts program will equip you with the skills to compete in today's commercial media industry through hands-on-experience. You will have the opportunity to produce films in all four years of the program in a real-world production environnment.
Cinema and Screenwriting majors work together throughout the program in a collaborative workshop setting. Cinema students use production fundamentals of filmmaking and writers collaborate with filmmakers to develop their scripts and actually see them brought to life on the screen. You'll come away with several finished pieces, along with all the technical skills you need to cut it in the industry.
Two Degree Programs
B.A. in Cinema and Digital Arts
Filmmakers in Cinema and Digital Arts begin producing work in their first year and have the unique opportunity to make films in every year of the program. In your junior and senior years, you'll select one of four concentrations for advanced study and practice:
- Directing
- Producing
- Cinematography
- Editing
B.A. in Screenwriting
In our screenwriting program writers have the opportunity to participate in a workshop setting, providing and receiving feedback from peers, instructors, and guest speakers; as well as study classic and contemporary works. Aspiring writers learn the fundamentals of storytelling by exploring various modes of narrative writing, including:
- Movie screenplays
- Television scripts
- Plays
- Writing for media
