Jay Kirk, Associate Professor

Jay E. Kirk began dancing at the age of 18 at Mercyhurst College and earned a BA in dance.  His professional career includes seasons with the Cincinnati Ballet, Chicago Ballet, Dallas Ballet, The Chautauqua Festival Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theater and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.  The repertoire he performed includes ballets by Ailey, Balanchine, Bournonville, De Mille, Fokine, Frantz, Naharin, Petipa and Tudor.  Kirk was a faculty member of Mercyhurst College and a dance panelist for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.  He also taught for the Pennsylvania Governors School for the Arts and the Interlochen Arts Academy.  In 2004, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with an MFA in dance from the University of Oklahoma School of Dance.
