Instructional Studies

This baccalaureate degree program is a useful alternative to the teacher certification curricula. Two sequences, Early Childhood and Elementary are available. The Instructional Studies program is intended for those students who have a strong interest in the field of education, but are seeking opportunities that would not require formal state certification. Some opportunities that are available to students who graduate with this degree are:

  •     Paraprofessional in public schools
  •     Private schools not requiring PDE certification
  •     Extended school programs
  •     Community centers
  •     Profit and non-profit organizations focused on children, youth, and families
  •     Youth service agencies
