Does Your Job Involve Training or Teaching?
Today’s workplace features diverse populations of adult learners. Are you prepared for the challenges of training, teaching or administering programs for many different styles of learning? Point Park’s certificate in adult education and administration can help. The new program – completely online – offers advanced professional skills in the areas of adult learning and administration, leadership and program management. It’s designed for professionals working or interested in:
- Adult Education, Literacy
- Business, Industry
- Community Development
- Corrections Education
- Education – Post-Secondary Teachers, Administrators
- Health Care
- Higher Education
- Military Training
- Social Services
- Vocational Education
The post-baccalaureate certificate is open to individuals who already possess a bachelor’s degree and seek specific knowledge in adult education and administration. The 18-credit stand-alone certificate can be completed in just 12 months by taking two, three-credit courses (six credits) in each of the fall, spring and summer terms.
Because the courses are only seven weeks long, students can focus on the objectives for one course at a time allowing for deeper understanding of the content area. The certificate program includes effective adult instructional methods, yet its primary focus is on administration, supervision and leadership in adult education settings.
The program can also be a successful lead into Point Park University’s Master of Arts in curriculum and instruction, which would be completed on campus.
