Undergraduate programs

Admit it … you love school

A Point Park education student works with a young girl on artwork.Ever since the first grade you loved the way your teacher would lay the foundation, then reel out just the right information at the just right time, then AHA! (Light bulbs plink on all around the room) and suddenly everyone gets it.

Now, it’s your turn to light up a classroom.

Early in Point Park’s education program you’re in the classroom, teaching, in variety of settings, including private, public, early education, elementary or high school.

You can design your education program around your particular passion -- math, English, special education, communication, science or history -- or tackle all of them and be ready for anything.

Bachelor’s degree programs, Pennsylvania teaching certificates

We invite you to explore our undergraduate degree programs according to where you want to take you career in education:

Special Education Dual Certification Option

In addition to the initial certification programs, Point Park students can choose to simultaneously complete the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s requirements for special education certification in either Pre-K through grade 8 or grades 7 through 12. Our dual certification programs are set up so you can get them done in eight semesters, including the student teaching practicum.

Transfer student options

For students transferring to Point Park with associate’s degrees in early childhood or elementary education, you may be eligible to complete those certifications under the state’s previous regulations.  Students transferring with bachelor's degrees may choose to enter the post-baccalaureate programs leading to early childhood or elementary education degrees and certifications.  All certification requirements must be completed and submitted to Pennsylvania’s Department of Education by August 2013.
