Alumna Julia Franzen says a degree in global cultural studies equipped her for life. Learn more.
To make a difference in the global community, you have to understand the global community. Our humanities-based, cross-disciplinary major in global cultural studies will give you an understanding of the complexities of the world, along with the critical thinking and communication skills needed to make agile, confident and informed decisions.
Studying in an international city like Pittsburgh, our students learn from faculty who work with Pittsburgh-based global companies and organizations. Students also have access to global experts through our "An Evening With..." Global Cultural Studies Speakers' Series. It's a real-world approach that prepares graduates for emerging transitional careers such as law, foreign service and environmental studies.
