Offered on campus

Step Back in Time to Move Ahead

Maybe you think in decades instead of days. Maybe you like to look back to see what you can learn from the past and relate it to the present. As a history major at Point Park University, your coursework will emphasize U.S. and world history, economics and political science, as well as a range of general college electives that focus on career preparation, journalism or pre-law.

Practical hands-on internships are available to prepare for careers ranging from archivist, curator and conservationist, to historian, journalist and teacher.

History students at Point Park also have access to an array of world-class museums and national historical sites in Pittsburgh and the region including the Senator John Heinz History Center, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Fort Pitt Museum, Fort Necessity, Fort Ligonier, Meadowcroft (the oldest site of human habitation in North America) and more.
