Course Descriptions

The notations after each course title indicate 1) the semester during which the course is offered and 2) the number of credit hours, the number of lecture hours per week, and the number of laboratory hours per week for the course.


ET 405 Fundamentals of Engineering Examination I—Fall (0-1-0)
Benefits, requirements, and procedures for becoming licensed as a professional engineer. Introduction to the Fundamentals of Engineering examination as the first step in professional licensure. Students must register for the F.E. examination as a requirement of this course. Meets once per month.

ET 406 Fundamentals of Engineering Examination II—Spring (0-1-0)
Strategies and hints for taking the Fundamentals of Engineering examination. Students must take the F.E. examination as a requirement of this course. Meets once per month.

ET 407 Professional Problems in Engineering Technology—Fall/Spring/Summer (3-2-3)
Consideration of the technical, economic, ethical, and social issues surrounding engineering design. Students working in teams will plan, design, and complete a faculty approved project that integrates technical and non-technical skills. The course will include case studies, online learning experiences, and both written and oral presentations. Prerequisite: 12 credits of Department Major Requirements at the 300 or 400 level.
