Hands-On Experience in Your Major Starting Year One

Beginning freshman year, students in Point Park University's B.F.A. photography program learn and practice on professional equipment and are prepared to enter the real world when they graduate. 

As a student in the B.F.A. photography program, you will have the opportunity to display your work as part of a solo or group exhibition. Students have shown their work in various locations in Pittsburgh, including:

Graduates are actively working as professional artists for a variety of publications and businesses - National Geographic Magazine, The Vindicator, Table Magazine, UPMC Eye Center, Westinghouse and The Picture People - as well as pursuing post-graduate studies at School of Visual Arts, Syracuse University, Maryland Institute College of Arts, among others.

Latest Updates

  • Hannah Altman ('17) earned an M.F.A. at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work was recently featured in Vanity Fair.
  • Alyssa Maurer ('18) is pursuing an M.F.A. at University of Cincinnati.
  • Sharimar Cruz ('18) attended School of Visual Arts' MPS Fashion Photography program and interned with Photographer Chris Buck. Her work was recently featured in Times Square.
  • Dominique Hildebrand ('16) earned an M.A. from Syracuse University and is a photo editor for National Geographic.
