Increased financial aid for adult students

Expanded assistance for Spring Semester 2012

Point Park has expanded financial aid opportunities for adult students.There’s no time like the present to take your life – and your career – to the next level. That’s because Point Park now offers adult students more financial aid opportunities, including:

  • merit scholarships for new graduate students
  • increased awards to Point Park alumni enrolling in graduate programs
  • new grants for part-time and accelerated undergraduate students transferring to Point Park from select community colleges

The increased financial aid starts with the spring 2012 semester. Enrollment is underway, and course selection begins Monday, Nov. 7. 

Point Park understands the needs of adult students and offers flexibility to fit the most demanding schedules. Whether pursuing one of the University’s 13 graduate programs or one of the 85 undergraduate programs as a part-time or accelerated student, adults like you turn to Point Park for academic excellence and exceptional value for their education dollar.

Graduate Student Financial Aid Options

  • Graduate Merit Scholarship   NEW
    $1,000 per semester for new graduate students taking 9 or more credits; $600 per semester for new graduate students taking six credits. GPA 3.25 and up to be eligible, GPA 3.0 to renew.

  • Alumni Grant  INCREASED
    $80 per credit discount on graduate courses for Point Park alumni.

  • Graduate Student Grant
    Up to $600 per term institutional aid for students taking 9- 12 credits; up to $300 per term for students taking 6-8 credits. Based on financial need.

  • Loans
    Loan options include Federal Direct Loans and Federal Graduate PLUS Loans.

  • Deferred Tuition Arrangements
    Students who have an employer tuition benefit may defer the employer’s portion until the end of the semester. Grades can be submitted to the employer and the benefit awarded so that the student can pay the balance of the tuition bill.

Undergraduate Part-Time Student and Accelerated Student Financial Aid Options

  • Point Park Part-Time/Accelerated Grant
    Based on financial need. Up to $1,000 per semester for accelerated students taking 12 credits; up to $750 per semester available for part-time and accelerated students taking 9 credits; up to $500 per semester available for students taking 6 credits.
  • Community College Grant   NEW
    $90 per credit award for applicants from select community colleges with an associate’s degree or 60 transferable credits.
  • Alumni Grant
    $30 per credit discount on undergraduate courses for Point Park alumni.
  • Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
    Students who are at least 25 years old and pursuing an undergraduate degree with little or no college experience can apply for an essay competition held each spring. Contact the Office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs for more information and application (available the first day of spring semester).
  • Loans
