What type of student is a Point Park student?
Double Majoring and Minoring
Freshmen
- Can declare a double major or minor in most areas of study during their second semester. Students can then begin taking classes in that area of study beginning their sophomore year.
- Dance and theatre arts double majors or minors must audition for artistic acceptance into the program. Visit Auditions and Interviews to learn more.
Transfers
- Can declare a double major or minor during their first semester. Students can then begin taking classes in that area of study beginning in their second semester.

Conservatory Program Double Majoring or Minoring Exceptions and Exclusions
- The cinema production program is NOT available as a minor. However, a cinema studies minor IS available.
- It is NOT recommended that theatre arts students double major due to the intensity of the program.
- A musical theatre minor is reserved and only allowed for students majoring in dance and acting. Students in other programs (Conservatory or all other majors) are not permitted to minor in musical theatre.
