App Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get the Alumni App by EverTrue on my mobile device?

Search for "EverTrue" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download. Once installed on your device, open the app and you will be prompted to search for our community. Type “Point Park University” and select the correct community. EverTrue supports Apple iOS 7 and 8 and Android 4.0.3 and above. You can sign up by using your email address to create your profile or you can sign up by linking to your LinkedIn account (recommended).

**If using an email and password, you will need to verify your email. Check your inbox to find a confirmation email waiting for you. Simply click on the confirmation link and return to the app to proceed.

Why should I connect using my LinkedIn account?

Linking your Alumni App profile to LinkedIn will allow you to immediately access the Point Park University community with no waiting period. It also activates features like “Professionals to Know” and updates your app profile with your LinkedIn picture.

My app is not working correctly. How do I fix it?

You can email any problems to alumniapp@pointpark.edu.

What does it mean when my information is under review?

If the email address you use to log in is not found in our database, we will have an administrator confirm your identity using the information you provided. After your identity is confirmed, you will immediately gain access to the Point Park University community.

Can I update my profile information directly in the mobile app?

Yes, it is easy to update your contact information directly in the mobile app. Click "Suggest an Update" at the bottom of your record with the requested changes which will be forwarded to the Office of Alumni Relations. You can submit all of your information you would like updated in the single box (i.e. phone number, email, primary mailing address, etc). To protect the integrity of the alumni database, you cannot directly change contact information in the mobile app in real time. Once the updated information is received, the Office of Alumni Relations will update your profile.

To suggest an update for a fellow Point Park classmate, friend or family member, click the "Suggest an Update" button at the bottom of their profile. Please note that it may take up to 10 business days for updates to appear.

I don’t want everyone to see my email address. How can I hide information?

If you wish to customize your settings so that particular information will not be visible to other fellow alumni, go to your profile and click the “Suggest an Update” button located at the bottom of your screen. You will then be given a free text box to submit any updates and/or privacy requests you wish to make. Please note it may take 2–3 business days to update profies for privacy requests.

Can I get a list of my classmates?

Yes, simply enter your class year in the search field of the directory. Everyone who graduated during your year, undergraduate and graduate, will show up.

Can I email or call another alum directly from the app?

Yes, while in the directory, tap the email address of the alum you wish to contact and your smart device email client will launch, enabling you to create a message. If you click the phone number, your phone will begin to dial the number.

Can I access Point Park’s Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn pages directly from the app?

Absolutely! We have included links to the Point Park alumni social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) as well as the Alumni Relations website in the app for your convenience. Just head on over to the “News and Social” page and browse around. Use the down arrow located at the top right corner of the screen to navigate to other linked pages.

When using the map, how do I know who is in the area and in my class?

Click the “Filter” button in the upper right-hand corner of the map. Type in the criteria you are trying to find then hit “apply.” This will generate a list of the alumni in the area, sorted by the type of filter you selected (i.e. – year, name, etc.).

How do I change my profile picture?

Profile pictures are added via LinkedIn. Your picture will show up if you connect the app to your LinkedIn account and your LinkedIn is a public profile. Profile pictures cannot be uploaded through the app.

How do I connect to LinkedIn?

You can log in to the app using your LinkedIn credentials, which will automatically connect your LinkedIn account to your profile. However, if you choose to authenticate using a different email and password, you can still connect your LinkedIn account via settings. Simply click the gear icon at the top right of the menu page and enable LinkedIn.

Who are my "Professionals to Know?"

If connected to LinkedIn, the Alumni App will use your self-identified LinkedIn Industry to pull a list of other alums in that same industry. This is a great way to network within your chosen field.

Can I see Point Park University alumni events?

Yes! If you go to “News and Social” on your homepage, you will be able to go to the “Alumni Events” page right from there.

What if I am a member of several communities using the EverTrue app? Can I join more than one community? How do I switch between them?

EverTrue gives you the ability to not only be a part of any and all communities that you belong to, but also switch between communities quickly. You can use the same credentials for all communities you belong to as long as each organization has that email in their database. To switch between communities, go to settings and select “Change Community.”
