Fall sports teams honored during Fall Sports Awards Ceremony on campus

Point Park University's fall sports teams were honored at the Fall Sports Awards Ceremony Jan. 20 on campus. The event was held in the Lawrence Hall Ball room (3rd Floor). A reception with food and drinks followed in the Lawrence Hall Lobby.

The event included athletic and academic awards for players and coaches, remarks from the administration and remarks from the fall sports coaches. Sports teams recognized were Men's and Women's Cross Country, Men's and Women's Soccer and Volleyball.

Highlights of the evening included handing out academic awards for NAIA Scholar-Athletes, Capital One (R) Academic All-District and All-American and Point Park Scholar-Athletes. Also, athletic awards for all-conference and All-American were presented as were award for AMC Coaches of the Year.

The academic achievements were particularly impressive with a total of 53 fall sports athletes being named Point Park Scholar-Athletes with a GPA of 3.2 or higher. A total of 12 fall sports athletes made the grade as NAIA Scholar-Athletes as juniors or seniors with GPAs of 3.5 or higher.
