Point Park gets eight NAIA Scholar-Teams for the 2010-11 academic year

PITTSBURGH – Point Park University athletics had eight of its 11 teams recognized as NAIA Scholar-Teams during the 2010-11 academic year, it was announced today (Aug. 5).
To earn the distinction of an NAIA Scholar-Team, squads must have a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. A total of 934 teams in the NAIA earned that honor this year.
Leading the way with the top team GPA in the Point Park athletic department was the volleyball team, which carried a 3.67 GPA along with a 29-10 record this past year.
The volleyball team was one of four Point Park squads that had the top team GPA in the American Mideast Conference in their respective sports. Also leading the conference were the Point Park men’s soccer (3.36 GPA), men’s cross country (3.27) and men’s golf (3.07) teams.
