Ashley Goodsell, a senior midfielder on the Point Park University women's soccer team, is this week's featured athlete.

Goodsell is a native of Southamtpon, N.J., and she is in her second season with the Pioneers. She transferred to Point Park for the 2009 season after starting her career at Stockton College of New Jersey, an NCAA Division III school.

Goodsell is one of the Pioneers' eight returning starters this year. In 2009, she was named All-AMC third team after starting every game for Point Park. Goodsell totaled one goal and one assists last year.

Goodsell and the Pioneers open the 2010 season Wednesday (Sept. 1) at Franciscan, an NCAA Division III school in Steubenville, Ohio.
