GERALD WARRICK

Jan. 26, 2010

GeraldWarrickGerald Warrick, a senior center on the Point Park University men's basketball team, is this week's featured athlete.

Warrick transferred to Point Park at the start of the school year, but he had to sit out the first semester because he had only one semester of eligibility remaining.

Since suiting up for the first time in early January, Warrick has proven to be one of the top post threats in the American Mideast Conference. A 6-7 center, Warrick is averaging 13.1 points and 9.1 rebounds in seven games thus far.

Warrick has started every game he has played, and he is coming off of some strong performances last week. In three games last week, the Penn Hills, Pa., native averaged 18.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

Entering Thursday's game at Notre Dame (OH), he has posted three double-doubles in his last four games. The only game he didn't registered more than 10 boards was versus Roberts Wesleyan Monday when he had a career-high 23 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Warrick started his collegiate career by spending two years at Mercyhurst North East before moving on to Edinboro, where he averaged 10.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in 31 starts during the 2007-08 season.
