PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University baseball alum Don Kelly, a veteran utility player for the Detroit Tigers, is one of 30 players nominated for the Major League Baseball Players' Alumni Association's "Heart & Hustle Award", which is given annually to the player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game.

Each major league team has one nominee put forth for the award, and the winner will be announced Nov. 19 at the 14th Annual Legends for Youth Dinner in New York. The award is voted on by MLB alumni and active players, and 5 percent of the voting will be conducted by fans.

The deadline for fan voting is Friday, Nov. 8. Click the link below and Vote Don Kelly for the MLBPAA's "Heart & Hustle Award". VOTE DON KELLY

Kelly has been in the majors with the Tigers since being a September call-up in 2009. He has played all nine positions during his big-league career, and he has been a valuable asset in Detroit's three consecutive trips to the ALCS.

Kelly's hard-working attitude and approach to the game have him ready to play numerous positions on any given night and is why he embodies what the "Heart & Hustle Award" is all about.
