NAIA TOP 25

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University remains at No. 21 for the third week in a row in the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll released Tuesday (April 14) by the national office. Also making news on Tuesday was that the Pioneers (29-6) have added to the schedule a doubleheader at NCAA Division II No. 6 Seton Hill (30-6) Wednesday, April 15 at 1 p.m.

This week's NAIA Top 25 has remained solidified for the most part, just like the last two weeks. No team moved up more than two spots this week, and Point Park is one of nine teams to stay in the same spot. The Pioneers went 4-0 since the last poll with a KIAC sweep of Brescia (Ky.) at home.

Point Park's pitching staff is a strength of the team ranking ninth in the NAIA with a team ERA of 2.68. The Pioneers rank tied for 27th in the country in opponent batting average at .243. In the KIAC team rankings, the Pioneers lead the conference in team ERA (2.68), rank third in team batting average (.289) and second in fielding percentage (.955).

Point Park picked up the marquee matchup with No. 6 Seton Hill (30-6) when both teams had their mid-week games called off by the opponents. So, the top two teams in local college baseball will meet for a doubleheader in Greensburg, Pa., beginning Wednesday at 1 p.m. Live Stats are available here: Live Stats
