PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University sophomore right fielder Tom Pasinski has been named the American Mideast Conference Baseball Player of the Week after batting .429 with six RBIs the week of April 4-10.

The native of West Mifflin, Pa., who transferred to Point Park this year from Penn State-Behrend earned the honor on the strength of his career day Sunday versus Walsh. Pasinski was 4 for 7 with six RBIs that day, and he played a key part in a pair of one-run victories for the Pioneers (25-6, 6-2 AMC).

Pasinski had the game-winning single in the 11th inning of Game 1 as Point Park topped Walsh, 6-5. He was 3 for 4 with four RBIs and also came through with an important, two-run double as Point Park mounted an 5-0 lead early on.

In the second game of the day, he delivered an RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh that tied the score at 4-4. Later in the inning, the speedy Pasinski scored the game-winning run from third as Kyle Lucot dropped down a bunt single.

Pasinski was 2 for 5 in a mid-week game versus Penn State-Beaver, and he was 6 for 14 on the week. The graduate of West Mifflin, Pa., also had a strong week defensively as he worked his way into the starting right-field spot later in the week.

Pasinski has been used as a part-time starter as he has 12 starts in 28 games. He is batting .436 (17 of 39), but he does not have enough at bats to qualify for the AMC or team leaders. He is slugging .538 and has a .560 on-base percentage.
