PITTSBURGH -- The NAIA World Series-bound Point Park University baseball team was greeted by the local, Pittsburgh media during Wednesday's practice at Green Tree Park. The workout was open to the media and was the first practice since the Pioneers qualified for their 11th NAIA World Series with last weekend's NAIA Opening Round victory.
Point Park (51-9) opens the NAIA World Series May 25 in Lewiston, Idaho, with a first-round game versus College of Idaho (41-19) at 9 a.m. PT. The Pioneers are seeded seventh in the 10-team, double-elimination tournament that continues through June 1.
Local Pittsburgh TV affiliates for ABC (WTAE-TV), NBC (WPXI-TV) and CBS (KDKA-TV) were on hand Wednesday as well as local newspaper media.
