Point Park men's cross country takes 11th on fast course at Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Point Park University men's cross country placed 11th of 15 teams Saturday at the Lock Haven Invitational in what was a fast course and competitive field.
Pioneers top runner Eric Torres, a freshman, posted a career-best time of 26:23 in the 8K race, which was good for 21st place of 199 runners. Torres, from Robstown, Texas, registered the fourth-fastest 8K time in program history.
Point Park entered five runners in the race with each registering their best times of the season. Sophomore Heath Hougas came in 47th place at 27:19 followed by freshman Paul McCloud in 103rd place at 28:50.
Also running for the Pioneers and posting season-best times were Eric Engel (30:48) and Marvin Walker (31:10).
Point Park is off next weekend before competing in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational Oct. 11 at Schenley Park.
