Point Park's Torres competes at NAIA Cross Country National Championship

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Point Park University freshman Eric Torres competed in the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship on Saturday in Lawrence, Kan., the native of Robstown, Texas., came in with a time of 27 minutes, 14 seconds in the 8K race.

Torres had a pace of 5 minutes and 28 seconds per mile to place 199th of 320 runners in the meet. He was the second runner from the KIAC to cross the finish line with Rio Grande's Dallas Guy, the KIAC individual champion, placing 101st with a time of 26:28.

The Rio Grande team placed 29th of 36 in the team standings. Bernard Keter of Wayland Baptist won the individual title with a time of 24:36.
