PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University men's cross country team was shorthanded with just two runners available at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday in Schenley Park.

Unable to register a team score, the Pioneers were represented by sophomore Heath Hougas and junior Eric Engel, both of whom registered the best 8K-time of the year.

Hougas placed 29th of 173 runners with a time of 26:45, which puts him in the Top 10 list of best 8K-times in program history. Engel ran the race in 30:07 for a season-best time like Hougas.

The Pioneers' next meet is Oct. 17 at the Wilmington (Ohio) Invitational. Follow the Pioneers on Twitter @PointParkSports #PPUXC
