WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Point Park University men's cross country team got a couple of high individual finishers and wound up placing 6th of 9 teams at the Waynesburg Invitational Saturday.
Andrew Rowland, a senior from Pittsburgh, was seventh individually with a time of 28:16 in the 8K. The winning time of 26:14 by Scott Ryan of Washington & Jefferson was by far the best of the field, but Rowland was not to far behind the others who finished in front of him.
Dylan Grunn, a junior from Honesdale, Pa., turned in a time of 28:43 and just missed placing in the top 10 as he placed 11th.
Connor Mulvaney was the third Point Park runner to finish, and he did so in 30:28 for 33rd place. The Pioneers' next four runners were bunched together as Jon Rohlf (32:05) was 39th, Chris Kennedy (32:06) was 40th, Ian McIntosh (32:10) was 42nd and Reuben Rono (32:14) was 43rd.
The Pioneers are off next week before traveling to St. Vincent Sept. 24. That meet is the first of three races in three weeks.
