PITTSBURGH -- Dylan Grunn's career-best performance at the Waynesburg Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 8) has earned him the award of Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. The senior from Honesdale, Pa., turned in a personal-record time of 26:55 to place second at the season-opening meet.
Running in a driving rain storm throughout, Grunn finished strong to take second place. In the last 400 meters, he passed two runners from NCAA Division II California (Pa.), which easily won the team title with runners placing third through sixth.
Grunn and the Pioneers will race in the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15.
