PITTSBURGH -- The Point Park University men's cross country team placed 14th at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 12) at Schenley Park.
It was a challenging field of 16 schools competing. The top four teams of Carnegie Mellon, Walsh, Carnegie Mellon Alumni and IUP had many of the top finishers and all scored better than 100 points in the team standings.
Connor Mulvaney was Point Park's top finisher in 54th place of 202 runners. The junior from Moon Twp., Pa., posted a time of 28:51 in the 8K, which is just a little bit shy of his best 8K time of the year.
Other top performers for the Pioneers were Zane Kravec (30:36), Ian McIntosh (30:53), Luke Shannon (31:56) and Eric Engel (33:44).
Point Park takes a week off from competition before returning to action Oct. 26 at the Carlow Meet. That is the final regular season event before the KIAC Meet Nov. 9 at Midway (Ky.).
