PITTSBURGH -- The 2011 Point Park University cross country schedule has been announced, and the Pioneers open their season Sept. 3 at Westminster.
Point Park will compete in six regular-season meets before the American Mideast Conference meet and NAIA national championship meet Nov. 5 and 19, respectively.
After opening up at Westminster (Sept. 3), the Pioneers will also visit meets at Waynesburg (Sept. 10), St. Vincent (Sept. 24), Pitt-Greensburg (Oct. 1), Carnegie Mellon (Oct. 8) and Walsh (Oct. 22).
Of note, Point Park's men's cross country team will try to defend its title at the Pitt-Greensburg Invitational. At that same event last year, the Pioneers placed second in the women's race.
The location of the AMC meet will be announced at a later time. The NAIA meet will take place at Vancouver, Wash., with a time to be announced.
