PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University men's basketball coach Bob Rager lent his basketball expertise to a panel discussion about the 2009-10 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament held on the school's downtown Pittsburgh campus Monday afternoon.
Among the panelists at the 'Brackets 101' luncheon program were (pictured above, right to left) Ellis Cannon, the host of the program and the publisher of Pittsburgh Sports Report, Rager, the 21-year head coach at Point Park, Bob Pompeani, sports director of KDKA-TV and Tony DeFazio, the editor of Pittsburgh Sports Report.
Rager joined the local sports personalities in breaking down the NCAA tournament, which had its 65-team bracket announced Sunday Night. Pompeani is a Point Park alumnus.
The Brackets 101 program was a fundraising event for the university's Myron Cope Scholarship, which is awarded to students in the School of Communication. The award was named for the late Cope, who enjoyed a long career as a sports journalist and who was best known for his work as a broadcaster for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The winner of this year's Myron Cope Scholarship was Melissa Stokowski.
