Point Park University announces 2010-11 Men's Basketball Schedule
Sept. 7, 2010
PITTSBURGH -- The 2010-11 Point Park University men's basketball schedule includes 26 games beginning with the Daemen College Tournament Nov. 5-6 in Amherst, N.Y. The Pioneers will play 10 home dates and 18 American Mideast Conference games.
The 26-game schedule is highlighted by a home-and-home series with each team in the AMC for a total of 18 conference games. The AMC schedule begins Nov. 30 with a home game versus Walsh, which was ranked No. 1 in NAIA Division II last year and played in the national title game.
In addition to the season-opening Daemen Tournament on Nov. 5-6, the Pioneers will also visit the Buffalo State Tournament for two games Nov. 19-20.
Following the early season trip to Daemen, Point Park will visit one of the top teams in NCAA Division II when they play at West Liberty on Nov. 16. The Hilltoppers are ranked No. 8 in Division II in a preseason poll conducted by The Sporting News. West Liberty returns four starters from last year's team that went 29-3, reached the Sweet 16 and averaged 100.9 points per game.
Point Park's non-conference schedule is rounded out with a home-and-home with Penn State-Fayette (Nov. 22 and Dec. 2), and a trip to NCAA Division III Keuka in Keuka Park, N.Y. (Jan. 6).
