Profile: Heatherington led Point Park with 15.9 points and 5.9 assists per game as a freshman last year. He started every game that he played and was named to the All-AMC second team and to the All-AMC Freshmen Team. A 5-10 point guard, Heatherington gives the Pioneers a scoring point guard who can push the ball up the court in head coach Bob Rager’s fast-paced, up-tempo style of play.

2009-10 (Freshman): Heatherington ranked sixth in the AMC in scoring and was second in assists. He was tops among AMC freshmen in scoring and assists, and his assist average ranked fifth in NAIA Division II. Heatherington led Point Park in scoring in 10 games, which included a career-high of 26 versus PSU-Fayette. He scored in double figures 19 of 23 games and he eclipsed the 20-point mark eight times. He shot 41% from the field and a team-best 79% from the foul line. His career-high of 12 assists were in the second meeting with PSU-Fayette.

High School: Heatherington was a two-time all-state player during his standout career at Serra Catholic High School. He averaged 25.0 points per game as a senior, and scored 1,108 career points. As a two-sport athlete, Heatherington was a two-time all-state selection in basketball and football at Serra Catholic. In basketball, he was a Fab 5 pick by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette East and a Tribune-Review Terrific 10 selection. He was twice named the Male Athlete of the Year by the McKeesport Daily News. He was a two-time All-WPIAL selection and a two-time WPIAL all-section choice. As a junior, he led Serra Catholic to championships on the WPIAL and PIAA level. As a senior, he led his team to the WPIAL finals by scoring 50 points in the semifinals, which set a WPIAL single-game playoff record. On the football field, he was a all-state quarterback who ran an option offense. As a senior, he was the Black Hills Conference Offensive MVP after totaling 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards passing for the second straight year.
