Guard, 6-2, 220 pounds
Junior
Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pa.
High School: Hampton HS
Previous School: Seton Hill Univ.
Coach Rager: “Asa is a very athletic player who will give us defense and rebounding. We are not a big team, so we need him to rebound as a guard. He can play defense on a team’s top scorer. He may be a little bit of a secret weapon for us this year.”
Profile: Braxton started his career at Seton Hill in the 2007-08 season, and he arrives at Point Park with two years of eligibility. At 6-2, 200 pounds, he is an athletic wing player who can defend a variety of positions. His ability to rebound as a guard will be needed on an overall short team. His athleticism and ability to run the floor fit in well with Point Park’s offensive style.
At Seton Hill: He played in 18 games and made two starts during the 2007-08 season. He averaged 3.7 points and 1.1 rebounds in 8.6 minutes per game. He shot 42% from the field and 38% from 3-point range (15 for 39).
